Uthabiti is seeking a highly organised, energetic and hands-on Events Manager for a 3-month contract to support the delivery of two major events in October and November 2026: The Africa Childcare Forum (ACF Mombasa 2026) in October, and the Feeding Hope Initiative — an early Christmas festival for children in November 2026.
The successful candidate will be highly independent and take responsibility for coordinating the events from planning through to execution, working closely with the CAC Coordinator, volunteers, Uthabiti team, partners, sponsors, speakers, suppliers and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and coordination of ACF Mombasa 2026 (13–15 October 2026) and the Feeding Hope Initiative.
- Develop and manage event workplans, timelines, budgets and logistics.
- Coordinate venues, accommodation, transport, catering, branding and suppliers.
- Coordinate speakers, guests, delegates, partners and volunteers.
- Support sponsorship, fundraising, exhibitions and partner deliverables.
- Oversee registration, participant communication and event materials.
- Coordinate event branding, visibility and communications.
- Manage on-site event operations and troubleshoot issues.
- Coordinate suppliers and ensure timely delivery of contracted services.
- Prepare post-event reports and financial reconciliations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Events Management, Hospitality, Communications, Business or a related field.
- 3–5 years’ experience in professional corporate event management.
- Proven experience managing conferences, public events or multi-stakeholder events.
- Strong organisational, project management and budgeting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly proactive, resourceful and able to work under pressure.
- Experience working with government, corporate, development or high-profile stakeholders is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel, including to Mombasa, during the assignment.
